The smart-grid introduces several new data-gathering, communication, and information-sharing capabilities into the electrical system, as well as additional privacy threats, vulnerabilities, and cyber attacks. In this study, Modbus is regarded as one of the most prevalent interfaces for control systems in power plants. Modern control interfaces are vulnerable to cyber-attacks, posing a risk to the entire energy infrastructure. In order to strengthen resistance to cyber attacks, this study introduces a test bed for cyber-physical systems that operate in real-time. To investigate the network vulnerabilities of smart power grids, Modbus protocol has been examined combining a real-time power system simulator with a communication system simulator and the effects of the system presented and analyzed. The goal is to detect the vulnerability in Modbus protocol and perform the Man-in-the-middle attack with its impact on the system. This proposed testbed can be evaluated as a research model for vulnerability assessment as well as a tool for evaluating cyber attacks and enquire into any detection mechanism for safeguarding and defending smart grid systems from a variety of cyberattacks. We present here the preliminary findings on using the testbed to identify a particular MiTM attack and the effects on system performance. Finally, we suggest a cyber security strategy as a solution to address such network vulnerabilities and deploy appropriate countermeasures.
Smart grid data can be evaluated for anomaly detection in numerous fields, including cyber-security, fault detection, electricity theft, etc. The strange anomalous behaviors may have been caused by various reasons, including peculiar load usage patterns of the consumers, grid infrastructure issues, blackouts, outside cyberattacks, or energy fraud. Recently, anomaly detection of the smart grid has attracted a large amount of interest from researchers, and it is widely applied in a number of high-impact fields. Implementing effective anomaly detection for a variety of aberrant behaviors is one of the smart grid's biggest challenges. In the context of smart grids, we provide a scoping overview of research from recent advances in anomaly detection in this work. We categorize our study from numerous aspects for deep understanding and inspection of the research challenges so far. Finally, after analyzing the gap in the reviewed paper, the direction for future research on anomaly detection in smart-grid systems has been provided briefly.
Digital twins (DTs) are digital copies of real-world items or processes that can learn from their surroundings to more accurately reflect, validate, and mimic the physical twin’s behavior in the here and now and into the future. DTs are becoming increasingly prevalent in a variety of fields, including manufacturing, automobiles, medicine, smart cities, and other related areas. In this paper, we presented a systematic review of DTs in the autonomous vehicular industry. We addressed DTs and their essential characteristics, emphasizing accurate data collection, real-time analytics, and efficient simulation capabilities while highlighting their role in enhancing performance and reliability. Next, we explored the technical challenges and central technologies of DTs. We illustrated the comparison analysis of different methodologies that have been used for autonomous vehicles in smart cities. Finally, we addressed the application challenges and limitations of DTs in the autonomous vehicular industry.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) has recently been one of the most significant concerns in cancers, especially child and old age. Therefore, crying needs to diagnose leukemia as early as possible, increasing the treatment options and patient survivability. Some basic handicraft leukemia detection processes have been introduced in this arena though these are not so accurate and efficient. The proposed approach has been introduced an automated ALL recognition system from the peripheral blood smear. Initially, the color threshold has been applied to segment lymphocytes blood cells from the blood smear. Some post-processing techniques like morphological operation and watershed have been executed to segment the particular lymphocytes cell. Finally, we used a support vector machine (SVM) classifier to classify the cancerous image frames using a statistical feature vector obtained from the segmented image. The proposed framework has achieved the highest accuracy of 99.21%, the sensitivity of 98.45%, specificity of 99%, the precision of 99%, and F1 score of 99.1%, which has beat existing and common states of art methods. We are confident that the proposed approach will positively impact the ALL detection arena.
The purpose of this work is to design an efficient and simple ground based rectenna system for receiving microwave power. The performance of designed system is tested in Advanced Design System (ADS) simulation environment. This system can receive microwave power from Space Solar Power Satellite (SSPS) system and convert microwave energy into Direct Current (DC). The ground based rectenna consists of microstrip patch antenna array with rectifier circuit using Schottky diode. The rectifier circuit consists of low pass filter, diode, matching circuit and Dickson charge pump voltage multiplier circuit. This multiplier circuit increases output voltage considering small input power. In this paper, 8 elements microstrip patch antenna array operated at 2.45 GHz frequency with high efficient rectifier circuit is designed. The simulation results show better gain and directivity of proposed rectenna system which increase the performance of existing SSPS systems.
A novel approach of antenna array with beam steering technology is addressed in this paper which can transmit microwave power from Space Solar Power Satellite (SSPS) system. Array antennas are critically important component in the development of future wireless systems with applications in communications, radar and satellite technologies. The Microwave Power Transmission (MPT) technology is a key technique for SSPS system, which is being highlighted as a technology capable of solving global environment problem as well as the energy problem. This paper presents a robust technique for MPT which is able to steer the main beam at any desired direction in the presence of array imperfections. The proposed beamforming technique is proficient to cancel the directional interferences. The simulation results show that the proposed SSPS scheme has better performance than the existing systems.
This paper presents an 8-shape slotted microstrip patch antenna. The antenna is fed by microstrip transmission line. The proposed antenna is simulated with the help of commercially available GEMS software based on the parallel FDTD algorithm. The antenna is designed by FR4 substrate and ground plane with an area 50mm×40mm×1.60 mm. The designed antenna generates three resonant modes at 2.12 GHz, 6.98 GHz and 13.84 GHz respectively. The bandwidths of the antenna (-10 dB) of the three frequencies are 25.75%, 6.13% and 20.63% respectively. The return loss (S ) characteristics for the 11 three bands are -41.95 dB, -22.68 dB and -23.15 dB respectively. The 3D radiation patterns of the proposed antenna are provided in the paper.
Bangladesh is a developing country, it has probability to progress towards increasing the demand of energy .Now a day, Bangladesh is facing energy crisis. In Bangladesh, around 70% of people having lack accesses to electricity and most of them are living in the village. Among them about 40% of them are living in below poverty line. On the other hand climate change puts addition threats to development. To combat these situations, renewable energy technology stands out to be one of the prospective sources to meet its unprecedented energy demand and can contribute to achieve sustainable development as a country has a plentiful supply of renewable sources of energy. This paper investigates the prospect, trend, utilization and its technology as well as reviews the policy and institutions and opportunities of renewable energy technology towards sustainable development and climate change mitigation is context of Bangladesh.
Teaching is the work that I love to do. It is a passion for me rather than a profession. Choosing to work as a teacher is more than just a job. You must possess an infinite amount of tolerance and compassion. For the same reasons that make it a great profession—courage and dedication—it is also a noble calling. In spite of the difficulty and weariness involved, a good teacher must have the guts to do what's necessary for the benefit of their students.
