Sohag Kumar Saha is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Smart Grid Lab, Center for Energy Systems Research (CESR), Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, TN, USA. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems and Energy.
His research focuses on Energy Management Systems, Adaptive Critic Design, Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) Simulation, Smart Grid and Microgrid Systems, Integration of Renewable Energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), PV Hosting Capacity, Peak Shaving, Economic Load Dispatch, Optimization using Meta-heuristic Algorithms, and application of Machine Learning and Deep Reinforcement Learning in Power Systems.
In December 2024, he received his Master of Science in ECE from Tennessee Tech. Earlier, he completed his B.Sc. in EEE from Pabna University of Science & Technology (PUST), Bangladesh. He was elevated to IEEE Senior Member grade in August 2025, a distinction held by only ~10% of IEEE’s nearly half-million members.
